As per the scenario, the students who carried out search and rescue work for those who were under the rubble in the earthquake that occurred, were accompanied by the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department teams, as well as the search and rescue champion Ateş, a member of the Balıkesir Fire Department Yıldız Search and Rescue Unit with Dogs.

FIRST TRAINING, LATER DRILL

Hakan Kars, Assistant Principal of Edremit Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, gave information on the subject;  Our school received a letter about the "My School is Ready for Disaster Contest" in cooperation with the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency and the Ministry of National Education. We wanted to do an original work by participating in this competition, which aims to increase disaster awareness in schools, to create a disaster culture and to develop a unique behavior model. Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department supported us. Our students first learned how to do practical search and rescue in the wreckage area after the theoretical training, what to do before, during and after the disaster. Our students, who completed their education, finally conducted a search and rescue drill in a wreck. On behalf of our school, I would like to thank the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality teams and the Provincial Directorate of National Education for their support.
