23.03.2023

With the contributions of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, the "Çanakkale 1915 War Materials Museum" opened its doors to the citizens in the City Council building. The museum will be open until April 2.

The ‘Çanakkale 1915 War Materials Museum’, which has been travelling from city to city for 12 years within the scope of the ‘From Çanakkale to Anatolia Project’, met with the people of Balıkesir with the contributions of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality. The first visitors of the museum, where approximately a thousand pieces of historical artifacts are exhibited, were Governor of Balıkesir Hasan Şıldak, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yücel Yılmaz, Mehmet Akif Ersoy Primary School and Altıeylül Köseler Primary School students. The doors of the museum will be open until April 2 at the City Council Building in the Avlu Life and Activity Center. Students in Balıkesir will be able to visit the museum within the program of the Provincial Directorate of National Education.

THIS MUSEUM INCLUDES THE ARTIFACTS THAT ARE NOT IN ÇANAKKALE

Çanakkale 1915 War Materials Museum Coordinator Cengiz Yürükaslan gave information about historical artifacts to the citizens and students who visit the museum. He explained that they organized such a cultural program in order for the citizens, especially students, who cannot go to Çanakkale and do not have the opportunity to see it, to feel the Çanakkale epic. Coordinator Yürükaslan said, “Every Turkish child must go to Çanakkale and see those lands washed with blood. We opened our museum in Balıkesir with the support of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality. There are many unknown artifacts in our museum. In fact, citizens who have visited Çanakkale can see the artifacts in the museum which they haven't seen in there".
