Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to organize the coastline in Erdek District, the pearl of Marmara. Çuğra Beach of Erdek becomes a center of attraction with the help of the Metropolitan.
Turning the beaches of Balıkesir into a social life area that has been revived by the active use of citizens, the Metropolitan Municipality is reworking the 291-kilometer coastline of the city, giving it a completely different face. In this context, the coastal arrangement works carried out in Erdek District Çuğra Beach continues.
ERDEK ÇUĞRA IS BEING RENEWED
The area will become a brand new center of attraction when the Çuğra beach arrangement works to be carried out on an area of 36 thousand 400 square meters are completed. Within the scope of the project, which will both ensure more effective use of the coastline and strengthen the region aesthetically, 14 thousand square meters of the area has been designed as a green area for citizens to spend more comfortable time. 5 thousand 900 meters of bicycle path infrastructure was created. The coastline designed primarily for pedestrians will gain a brand new face with the walking path where everyone can walk comfortably, the jogging track, as well as urban furniture, sport areas and children's playgrounds, and new lightings. It is planned that the works will be completed in the summer and the Çuğra Beach will be opened to the public with its renewed face.

Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yücel Yılmaz stated that they continue to work quickly in Erdek; Metropolitan Municipality leaves its signature in Erdek. We have been working intensively in this region for a long time. We have implemented many works from uninterrupted and healthy drinking water works to solving the waste water problem, from new road constructions to square arrangement works. Coastal landscape projects were one of them. After the works of Tatlısu Büyükbakraç, Karşıyaka Beach, Turan Neighbourhood Beach, İlhan Neighbourhood Beach and Şahinburgaz Neighbourhood beach arrangement, we are implementing a similar project in Çuğra.
