Great transportation support comes to students from Turkey's youngest Metropolitan Mayor Yücel Yılmaz, who has implemented many projects at the point of the construction of the Student-Friendly City Balıkesir. Mayor Yılmaz gave the great news for students at the last council meeting of 2022. Mayor Yücel Yılmaz, who reduced the KYK-Campus Line trip fee, which was 4.5 TL last year, to 2.80 TL with the subscription tariffs specially prepared for students, this time, he will provide transportation support of approximately 3 million TL per month to students for the 2022-2023 academic year and 25 million TL until the end of the education period. Within the scope of the tariff that will come into effect as of January 1, discounts between 40 and 75 percent will be made for students using BALKART on 16 lines calculated according to the distance and boarding rates between the districts.
MAYOR YILMAZ GAVE THE GOOD NEWS
Underlining that his goal is an accessible, economical, passenger satisfaction-based public transportation service, Chairman Yılmaz said, “We reduced the KYK-Campus Line excursion fee, which was 4.5 TL in September last year, to 2.80 TL. Now I want to give a good news; In the 2022-2023 academic year, approximately 3 million lira per month for our students; We provide an average of 25 million TL transportation support until the end of the academic year. We started working on this application on September 1st. With the new application effective as of January 1, in privately operated minibuses; We offer discounts from 40% to 75%. The difference will be subsidized by Balıkesir Public Transport A.Ş. This application we have implemented means a support of up to 600 TL per month for our students and their families. Our negotiations are proceeding with our tradesmen in the districts whose names are not on the list. I will inform you when the talks are concluded," he said.
