Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality has renovated 60 parks and playgrounds in 20 districts in the last 1 year, renewed existing parks that were not sufficient and created new parks in areas in need. Metropolitan Municipality will prioritize neighborhoods that do not have playgrounds so that every child can play safely in their own neighborhood. 

20 districts of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, which continues to work under the leadership of Mayor Yücel Yılmaz with an equal service approach, continues to build playgrounds all over the city, from rural neighborhoods to district centers, where citizens can breathe, do sports easily and play their children safely. The Metropolitan Municipality, which renews and increases the scope of parks and playgrounds that do not meet the demand in their current state and have lost their economic life, also identifies the regions where there are no playgrounds and installs them. The Metropolitan Municipality, which has built 60 parks and playgrounds in all 20 districts in the last year, is expanding children's playgrounds, which are especially lacking in rural neighborhoods.

PLAYGROUND IN EVERY NEIGHBORHOOD

In order to ensure that every child has access to these opportunities in their own neighborhood so that they can have a pleasant time in playgrounds under healthy conditions, children's playgrounds will be established in every neighborhood in Balıkesir with the works that will continue in the coming period, mainly in rural neighborhoods. In the parks, where new playgrounds are built by using healthy materials and considering the safety of children, outdoor sports equipment, lighting, urban furniture, trash bins, rubber floors, paving stones and landscaping arrangements are being made. The Metropolitan Municipality, which has also installed basketball hoops in the appropriate areas, continues to work at full speed in parks located in different parts of the city.

Making a statement on the subject, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Urban Aesthetics Director Mehmet Bora Dönmez said, "With the instructions of our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yücel Yılmaz, we continue to work to provide citizens with areas where they can sit and relax, where children and young people can easily play games and do sports both in our short neighborhoods and in our district centers."
