Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Yücel Yılmaz came together with the mukhtars of 20 districts on October 19, Headmen's Day. Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Yücel Yılmaz and the provincial protocol came together for lunch with neighborhood mukhtars working in 20 districts on the occasion of October 19 Mukhtars' Day. At the Headmen's Day Program, which started with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Şenol Karakuş, Imam Hatibi of Urgancı Mosque, all headmen were presented with a scarf with Turkish Flag and Palestinian Flag. Before the protocol speeches, Provincial Mufti Celal Sürgeç prayed for the end of the massacres in Palestine. BASKİ General Director İzzet Günal and Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Erkan Alkan informed the mukhtars about their activities.
AGRICULTURAL IRRIGATION WILL BE MANAGED UNDER PRESSURE
Stating that they provide services to every point of the city with 1457 drinking water boreholes, 1,400 water tanks, 9 drinking water treatment plants, 33 wastewater treatment plants, İzzet Günal, General Manager of BASKİ, a subsidiary of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, said: "In the meetings we held with our Mayor Yücel Yılmaz at the Ministry, together with the facilities built by the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ), the irrigation of 80 thousand hectares of land with 75 facilities under a single roof after Çukurova in Turkey has now entered the service area of the Metropolitan Municipality. MOBILE SOIL ANALYSIS DEVICE TO BE PUT INTO SERVICE
Stating that Balıkesir is an agricultural city, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Erkan Alkan said that they have carried out 40 projects with Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality since 2019 and added, "15 projects are in the preparation phase. The amount of roughage we have distributed in the last 2 years with our Metropolitan Municipality corresponds to 5 times the total amount of the previous years including the special administration. So far, we have completed the reclamation of 46 thousand decares of land together with our Metropolitan Municipality. Our work will continue in 26 thousand decares. This is an exemplary work in Turkey. We have built an early warning system to facilitate the work of our farmers. Mobile Soil Analyzer is also ready and will be launched soon. It is very valuable for Balıkesir agriculture. Breeding Production Facilities were established in 5 districts. Starting his speech by congratulating all mukhtars on October 19, Mukhtars' Day, Yücel Yılmaz, Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, said: "As I look at you, I see very clearly how big and strong a city we are. We were elected together in 2019. Where was Balıkesir in 2019 and where is it now. There is a short period of 5 months left for us to appear before our citizens.
