Secretary General of Balıkesir City Council Mürşit Canbulat was appointed as Green Crescent Balıkesir Branch President by Green Crescent Headquarters.

Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Küçükkaptan and Balıkesir City Council Secretary General Mürşit Canbulat visited Green Crescent Headquarters Sepetçiler Pavilion. During the visit, Green Crescent and Green Crescent Counselling Centre (YEDAM) activities and efforts to fight against addiction were discussed. Green Crescent Balıkesir Branch President Mürşit Canbulat emphasised that Green Crescent will work to protect the society and youth from harmful habits without discrimination based on human dignity and honour and said: "We will carry out preventive and rehabilitative public health and advocacy activities that fight against addictions such as tobacco (smoking), alcohol, drugs, technology, gambling, etc. by observing national and moral values and using scientific methods. We will continue to work devotedly for the spread of activities in Balıkesir."
