Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality increased the capacity of the 55-car truck parking lot to 120 in BALOSB, which is growing and developing day by day, and added social facilities to the area established on 43 decares of land. In this way, a healthy environment was created by considering all details from A to Z for the truck drivers carrying the products produced in Balıkesir.
In BALOSB, one of the few organized industrial zones of Turkey, which has grown 3 times with the initiatives of Yücel Yılmaz, Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality and Deputy Chairman of Balıkesir Organized Industrial Zone (BALOSB) Enterprising Committee, and BALOSB management, the 55-car truck parking lot in the area where 10 logistics companies are located was renewed by increasing its capacity due to its insufficiency. With the increase in the number and business volumes of the companies operating in BALOSB in recent years, the inauguration of the Truck Parking Lot, which was built on 43 decares of land, including the facilities, with a capacity of 120 trucks / trucks, as the vehicle park and facilities in the existing area were insufficient.
LOGISTICS COMPANIES RELIEVED
Within the scope of the investment realized to enable logistics companies to work in a prosperous and efficient environment, to access more vehicles, to transport at affordable prices, to determine special conditions, and to conclude transportation transactions quickly; 10 offices, toilet-shower for drivers, cafeteria, and facilities with a security cabin were also put into service. Built on 2 floors of 125 square meters each, the offices and other structures are located on a total area of 2 thousand 290 square meters.
In addition to the truck parking lot and facilities built by Balıkesir Toplu Konut A.Ş., a subsidiary of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, landscaping and asphalting works have also been completed by the Metropolitan Municipality.
CAPACITY INCREASED FROM 55 TO 120
BALOSB Regional Director Mesut Eray stated that they transferred a total of 43 decares of land, the ownership of which belongs to BALOSB Directorate, to Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality for 25 years and said "In return, the Metropolitan Municipality built 10 offices, 1 cafeteria, 1 administrative building, 1 gate entrance operation, 1 restaurant and 1 social facility on the parcel in question. In addition, as the vehicle capacity of the truck park was insufficient, the capacity of 55 vehicles was increased to 120 vehicles. Apart from the construction activities, landscaping works covering approximately 7 acres and re-asphalting of the floor of the expanding TIR park were carried out by the Metropolitan Municipality at no cost. In addition, our new road connecting BALOSB to the city, also built by our Metropolitan Municipality, has been opened, and the other stages are about to be completed.
