Metropolitan and Bar Association Provide Legal Support to Citizens in Need

Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality and Balıkesir Bar Association signed a cooperation protocol aiming to prevent violence against women and facilitate access to justice for disadvantaged citizens.

A cooperation protocol was signed between Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality and Balıkesir Bar Association, which have taken necessary steps to combat all kinds of discrimination and violence, especially violence against women. Within the scope of the joint service protocol signed by Yücel Yılmaz, Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality and Nadir Karakaşlı, President of the Balıkesir Bar Association, which aims to prevent violence against women and facilitate access to justice for disadvantaged citizens, disaster legal counseling and trainings will also be provided.A

PROMISING DEVELOPMENT

The Metropolitan Municipality, which has implemented projects and investments to strengthen the structure of women, children and family, aims to increase access to justice and to carry out judicial processes in a healthier way by meeting with lawyers with the cooperation protocol signed with the Bar Association. Stating that they will reach more victims with the protocol, Nadir Karakaşlı, President of the Balıkesir Bar Association, said: "Together with our Metropolitan Municipality, we will be the people for the forlorns. This is a very promising development for our city. I would like to thank our Mayor Yücel Yılmaz and his team."A 

A CITY THAT LEAVES NO ONE BEHIND

Stating that one of the first things they did when they took office was to establish a Women and Family Services Branch Directorate under the umbrella of the Department of Health and Social Services, Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Yücel Yılmaz said, "Today we are signing a very nice and auspicious work together with our Bar Association. May it be auspicious for our city. As Metropolitan, we stand by our Bar Association. We are working with the effort of being a city that leaves no one behind."
