MR. ERSOY, MAYOR OF HAVRAN:  WE WERE WAITING FOR IRRIGATION FOR YEARS

Havran Mayor Emin Ersoy pointed out that the water supply from Havran Dam to Havran Plain is a matter that farmers have wanted and waited for many years and said, "Havran Plain Agricultural Irrigation Project, which will enable the fertile lands that cannot be cultivated and remain empty to yield crops again and reduce the input costs of our producers, will make a great contribution to increasing the agricultural production of our district. At the same time, today we are opening the valuable investments made by our Metropolitan Municipality and BASKİ General Directorate in our district, we are happy and proud."

MAYOR YILMAZ: WE TOOK STEPS TO PREVENT POLLUTION OF THE BAY

Stating that Havran, Edremit and Burhaniye are inseparable from each other, Mayor of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Yücel Yılmaz said, "Havran Dam makes our producers from Havran, Burhaniye and Edremit smile. The treatment here is one of the important points that prevent pollution of the Gulf. Reminding that before 2014, Altınoluk and Zeytinli treatment plants could not be operated due to the costs, Mayor Yılmaz said, "When Balıkesir became a metropolitan city, our mayor of that day, the late Edip Uğur, first brought Altınoluk, then Zeytinli and many other treatment plants in the region back on their feet. However, there was a pollution carried to the Gulf via Havran Creek. The site allocation and project design of the project was made by Havran Municipality and BASKİ started to invest in the treatment plant."

WE WANT TO RECYCLE WASTE WATER

Stating that they want to build an advanced biological treatment plant in Zeytinli, Mayor Yücel Yılmaz said, "We want to irrigate Bostancı and Çıkrıkçı fields with the water we treat according to agricultural irrigation standards, and also use this water in Edremit Agriculture Based Specialised Greenhouse OIZ. This issue is being taken to different points politically. Today, Havran has become a district that is environmentally friendly, increases all its water, controls olive black water, adds value while producing and recycles."

15 PER CENT DISCOUNT FOR AGRICULTURAL IRRIGATION

Stating that they want to extend the irrigation capacity of Havran Dam to everywhere, Mayor Yılmaz said, "With this investment, we will increase the irrigation capacity of Havran Dam Irrigation Facility, which serves 3 thousand hectares, to 5 thousand 904 hectares. In other words, we will increase the yield and abundance by increasing its capacity by 100 per cent. I would like to give another good news today; we will make a 15 per cent discount on agricultural irrigation, not an increase. Good for you. Let the economy and production of Balıkesir grow. Let our young people live in this city where they were born. Let them produce here and inspire Türkiye, let them be a fertility.

MP CANBEY: A PROJECT THAT WILL SET AN EXAMPLE FOR TÜRKİYE

Stating that the irrigation issue of the second part of Havran has been on their agenda for a long time, AK Party Balıkesir Deputy Mustafa Canbey said, "We made visits to Ankara with our mayors and district president for this. This investment is an investment that requires a big budget. If our Metropolitan Municipality had not undertaken 150 million liras of this project, 60 million liras of which is a grant from the Presidency Strategy and Budget Presidency, we would not have been able to inaugurate this investment. Hopefully, our Havran will meet with water as soon as possible and the abundance of our products will increase."
