Providing services to every inch of the city, Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality, after the Avlu Life Center and Atatürk Park in the city center, the Metropolitan Municipality, which created a skate park on the Bandırma Coast, is now bringing a skate park to Akçay.

In 4.5 years, Mayor Yücel Yılmaz has contributed to the economic, social and cultural life of Balıkesir with the principle of providing equal services to each of its 20 districts. The Metropolitan Municipality, which has opened pastures in rural areas and made them productive, widened and arranged field and olive grove roads, donated equipment, seeds, saplings and breeding animals to producers and established Balıkesir Lamb Production Centers, also adds color to the cultural and social life of the city.

After the Avlu Life Center and Atatürk Park in the city center, the Metropolitan Municipality, which created a skate park on the Bandırma Coast, is now building a skate park in Akçay. Skate parks, which are the favorite of young people and children, will be established in other districts in line with the works.

METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY WILL GROW ITS OWN GRASS USED IN GREEN AREAS

Within the scope of the works carried out in Akçay Altinkum Beach 2nd Stage; a 40X20 sized skate park is being created. In addition to the skate park, 30 percent of the 10-acre area, behind which a parking lot for 120 cars was built, was planned as a green area. The grass to be used in landscaping is also produced at the Metropolitan Municipality Farmer Training Center (BAÇEM). The Metropolitan Municipality will now use the grass grown by itself in all applications throughout the city.

Stating that the skate park being built in Akçay is the 4th skate park built by the Metropolitan Municipality throughout the city, Kurthan Gencel, Technical Branch Manager of the Metropolitan Municipality 1st District Regional District Services Department, said, "The arrangement of green areas in the area covers approximately 10 acres. The works will continue gradually and in stages. Our work here will be completed within a month. The playground, sports fields and skate park will be put into service in a short time. We personally touch people's lives in the works we carry out in line with the vision of our Mayor Yücel Yılmaz."
